For Matex, a chemical firm which produces dyes for the textile industry, IPI helped to unlock "new capabilities which can create multiple... business opportunities", said Dr Alex Tan, its chief executive and managing director. The company was matched with a start-up, via IPI's services, to develop and test wastewater treatment technologies.

Matex's flagship Megapro System, an eco-friendly dye and system, now cuts down dyeing time by 33 per cent and the water used by 25 per cent, compared with conventional processes.
