Matex was invited and had the honour of speaking at the GCNS SME Series 2024, launched on United Nations Micro-, Small, and Medium-sized Enterprises Day. The first session, titled "Imperative for Decarbonisation - Deeper and Faster," emphasized the critical role SMEs play in the global transition to a net-zero economy. As stakeholders demand greater accountability and transparency, integrating green strategies is essential for future-proofing businesses.

The event highlighted the importance of understanding sustainability, with various resources and courses available to help SMEs upskill and gain key sustainability knowledge. It also stressed the need to align business goals with societal needs, ensuring that short-term benefits do not become long-term liabilities.

With limited resources, SMEs must strategically allocate efforts to meet sustainability goals. The session concluded with a message that SMEs are not alone in this journey, encouraging connections with organizations like UN Global Compact Network Singapore and Enterprise Singapore for support.
